This project was completed under the Maryland Stadium Authority’s 21st<\/sup> Century School Buildings<\/strong> program and addresses both the design of a 75,000 square foot school addition as well as renovations to the existing building.<\/p>\n

Albrecht provided assistance with the structural engineering design as well as construction administration services. The structural components included a structural evaluation of the building, design of the lateral load system, the design of a steel super structure, and spread foot foundations on geopiers.<\/p>\n

The structural system features steel moment frames with CMU and metal stud non-load bearing walls. The building has an intricate fa\u00e7ade, including large ribbon windows, cantilevered canopies, and projecting walls. The work also included the design of retaining walls to screen electrical equipment.<\/p>\n

Renovations to the existing building consisted of the installation of a new elevator, new stairs, and the replacement of a tower.<\/p>\n

Construction administration services included the review of shop drawings and RFI\u2019s.<\/p>\n
